Mike Tucker, Taurus Welding’s founder and CEO, knows the industrial welding industry inside and out. At 21, Mike started out as a welder's helper on high pressure wind tunnels in the Aims Research Center, NASA’s base in San Jose. With excellent mentorship, Mike went on to earn security clearance from the Department of Defense, welding for military infrastructure, radar stations and fueling systems. Then, in 1997, Mike purchased a truck and started his own company, welding in petroleum refineries. As the need for industrial welding grew, so did Taurus. Mike began taking on larger contracts for utility infrastructure and public works projects, hiring additional welders, purchasing equipment, expanding and diversifying to meet the demands of production. From humble beginnings to a leader in the welding industry, Taurus Welding remains true to the principles on which it was founded: integrity, reliability, professionalism & quality craftsmanship.
